BOBBO’S Bloody Mary Mix & Stuff

BOBBO’S is the finest Bloody Mary mix on this side of the Mississippi, Handmade in Brevard, NC, BOBBO’S is the perfect pairing for your morning brunch and afternoon libations.

Two overlapping gold-colored plaques with the words "The Dead" inscribed in a stylized font; beneath, it reads "Best Bloody Mary Mix Double Gold Medal 2024."

I thought about my old friend, and started experimenting with some of his ingredients, I added a few of my own, played with proportions, tested it on our kitchen staff and friends, and eventually transformed his Delta mix into a brand new perfect Bloody Mary mix.

It is not only an incredible medicinal morning-after special, but a delicious addition to other Southern recipes such as meat loaf, chilies, ragouts and jambalayas. We even served frozen BOBBO’S as a popsicle appetizer at a formal seated black-tie New Year's Eve dinner. We modestly think the mixture is the very best Bloody Mary mix you will ever have the opportunity to drink, cook, or recover with!

The BOBBO’S Story

When I (Bobbo) was a bass player in Memphis in the 1970s, I knew a Mississippi cotton farmer who doubled on jazz vibes and prided himself on his Bloody Marys. Years later, when my wife and I had a catering company in Nashville, clients would ask us to bring Bloody Mary Mix to their brunches.

Three paintings of food and drink. The first shows a can of soda with celery and a lime slice, the second depicts a grilled steak with seasoning and a salt shaker, and the third illustrates a burger patty melting with cheese and dripping sauce.

Robert “bobbo” Sargent

I spent my childhood in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. In 1961, after high school, I went through the Navy School of Music, then joined a fleet band and traveled the world. Once back stateside, I studied history at George Mason University. I moved to Memphis after graduating and played bass in a cover band. From Memphis, I moved to Nashville to write songs, but ended up changing directions and started a catering business with my wife, Janie, in 1981. Janie and I catered until 1997, when we sold the business to our good friends. Two years later we retired to Brevard, NC, where we are today. Both my love of jazz and experience in food (cooking and eating) led me to create what is now BOBBO’S Bloody Mary Mix (and stuff).
